One of the primary objectives of the owner of this contemporary Corte Madera hillside home was to install a water-saving gray water system, along with increasing the usable space in the backyard.
The Land Collaborative built a large weathered Ipe deck off the master bedroom providing an inviting space to relax and read. Beautiful roses plantings were added to the terrace below, viewable from the master bedroom soaking tub. A sidewalk extends from the deck to the lower yard with edible plantings, including fruit and avocado trees and olive bushes. The 130-gallon slimline storage tank and gray water system enables the homeowner to make use of recycled bathwater to maintain the health of the plants and trees. Subtle outdoor lighting completes the look.
