These Mill Valley homeowners wanted to renovate their front and back yards to include drought tolerant plants as well as create a basketball court for their family. The home is situated on a hillside and surrounded by mature trees.
For the back yard, The Land Collaborative removed the water thirsty lawn to make space for a basketball court. The current hillside plantings were replaced with drought tolerant ornamentals, and irrigation was changed to a drip system to conserve water. Concrete pavers were used in transitional spaces with crushed rock joints. In the front yard, stone steps create an inviting entrance. Drought tolerant plantings complete the renovation.
